"Free and Fear" 48" x 48" Original Large Bold and Colorful Abstract Painting
An original large-scale abstract painted by shop owner Levity (with assistance from her daughter), this colorful acrylic, charcoal and pencil painting creates a bold statement in your home. We love this as a jolt of energy in your entryway, as a moody addition to your bedroom or as a playful juxtaposition in a neutral living room.
While the word "freedom" fits better linguistically with the word "fear," I specifically chose "free" because I wanted this painting to represent an act of being, of who you are, instead of a concept to obtain. "Fear," on the other hand, is used as a thing, which gives natural rise to "free" as an act of being. Being free is stronger than your fear.
I also share credit for this painting with my toddler, who worked alongside me, under my guidance. As a mother, art and having my daughter believe in herself and her abilities are deeply important. We love creating art together, both in a capacity where I heavily guide her work (like this painting) as well as freely allowing her to choose her own color palette, tools and placement.

"Borne from my own pull between fear and being free, this painting captures the nuances and depths we find in both feelings. Continually confronted by things in life that we fear, we must actively cultivate the courage and determination to walk through that feeling. Being free is just on the other side."
